TESTIMONY

Our Stake, the Ephraim, Utah Stake, held it's semi-annual conference today. It was very inspiring and motivational on the subject of Missionary work. We are all missionaries; good, bad or indifferent. Our Stake President asked us to think of one thing we could do to be better missionaries in our work place, or our community or neighborhood, or our families. The thought occured to me that I could bear testimony to my family of the truth of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and invite your comment. I have had sufficient experiences in my life to know that it is true. And that knowledge has been attested to and confirmed by the Holy Ghost. Over the next few Sundays I will post some thoughts for your consideration.
Mosiah 2:41 (read the whole chapter!)
"...Morover, I would desire that ye consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."

I will take the opportunity to comment first. I am so thankful for a testimony of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. In my relatively short life (compared to you, Grandpa) I have had many experiences where the spirit has testified to me and confirmed my faith.

The past 2 weeks have truly been a series of mini miracles that are leading us to Canada. I don't know exactly what we will find there, but I know that is where the Lord wants us to be. As Cory and I prayed about this decision and decided to go for it, the one thing I verbalized to my Father in Heaven was that if this is right, please help us pull this off with relative ease. One thing after another just keeps falling into place almost pushing me out the door. I know that if I follow the promptings of the Lord, I will be blessed, as will my family.

I want so much for my children to know that I have a testimony. That is so important to me. So I understand how that is important for you also. Grandpa and Granmda, I know you each have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I thank you for your examples. Your names will be spoken of with great admiration and love throughout eternity by me. I love you both, Cari

Dear Cari, What a joy to our souls you are. Thank you SO much for posting Laury's pictures, but more especially, for your testimony!! When we open our hearts and minds to see the miracles our Father blesses us with the more we are able to recognize and feel of His love for us.

Does anyone else out there read this blog?? If so, I would like to hear your views. A simple "amen" or "hogwash" would be sufficient but I would prefer to see a comment posted and know that I might be reaching someone. Pass the word!

Grandma and I have a great love for all of our posterity: ten children, plus spouses; forty grandchildren, plus spouses; and more than forty great-grandchildren. We love you all and want to hear from each one of you!
